By the way, I first installed the plugin with the Wordpress install, using the zip file from my hard drive. But it installed the whole thing in a kind of convoluted way (I don't remember what exactly) and the licence info showed up at the top of my admin and blog pages... So I uninstalled it and manually installed the folders into my content/plugins directory. Could this be the problem?

Sorry to bump, but I'm beginning to be a bit concerned about having invested so much money in something that may not work for me... Please help me find the solution to this problem! I'm still stuck.

Having a really, really weird problem. Every time I try to upload "empty-star.gif" it looks fine on my computer and then turns into a zombie on the server. The other stars are now showing up, but this one refuses to. It's probably a file-transfer issue, but I'm still stymied!

Try clearing your browser cache, you may have cached a bad version and it's showing that instead of what you last uploaded.

Nah, I did that a million times. I contacted my hosting service for help, thinking it might be an ftp transfer problem, and according to them the star-empty.gif file is corrupt. So I'm going to try a copy/paste creating a new file with Graphic Converter, and will let you know if I manage to create a "non-corrupt" version and get it online...

Have tried that, and also even creating an entirely new 12x12 gif - like a smiley-face - and calling it "star-empty.gif" - for some reason it doesn't want to exist. I can now upload the file, just did it thanks to the link above, but nothing is showing up, just blank space where there should be little grey stars. Isn't that the wierdest thing???

As I mention in another post, a fresh installation of Wordpress on the site seems to have resolved my corrupted file problem. Who knows why that all happened? The mysteries of the ether...
