Tangler Building Forums 2.0
Tangler has grown to over 1,000 forums in four months
with a new approach to discussion: Networked, fast and fun.
Next? Embedding and integration.
Tangler’s Mission:

We’ve upgraded forums:
• Networked – every forum is connected through a single system.
• Fast – real-time discussion through Ajax.
• Fun – rich-media friendly for pics, videos, flash.
• Swarm – desktop app which alerts you of new messages, topics, invitations.
• Social – cross forum interaction across subjects, groups and people.
• Dynamic threading – single threaded topics with new topic linking.
Note: Tangler is still in beta, with more testing, bug fixing and features to come.
Embedding & Integration Beta
In August 07, Tangler will allow topics to be shared across the web like YouTube videos. One conversation with many access points. Links to demo of embedding: (Please open links in different browsers due to current connection limits.)

In September 07, Tangler will let you integrate a Tangler Forum into your website, web application or blog:
• Fully customized design and widgets.
• Gives you your own sub-community for users.
• Give your users a 2.0 forum to interact with each other and with you.
• Connect into a network of 1,000’s of other forums and more users.
• Give your users more ways to come back – alerts, email, RSS, discussion inbox, cross linking Tangle threads.
• The network and community work together to reduce spam.
• Tangler is inviting 50 sites to be in the initial beta.

This is awesome guys. I'm already seeing you guys turning up all over the place - well deserved. Congratulations.
The TechCrunch writeup didn't even pull the requisite badmouthing that every startup learns to expect in the follow-up comments. OK. So there were a couple of people who given a little bit of knowledge assume a lot, likening the Tangler model to a forum with auto-refresh (???), but apart from that the feedback looked really good, and even constructive (eg. ajax comment replication and synchronisation). Good to see that Mick managed to get OpenId in there as well...
Awesome, thanks for the props, but mostly thank you for the great next-gen forum software that we get to use. I am thinking about trying to get a friend to switch from a traditional forum to Tangler, maybe once its out in the wild in Sept he will see it in use and entertain it then. Congratulations for everything!
