Whoa, sorry for the multiple posts. If a moderator could deleted them, please do... I was getting Errors, so I just kept resubmitting. Anyway, I have many thoughts on the game, but I think I'll start by saying that we need more visual feedback in the game. By this, I mean that we need to know/see which unit is attacking which unit when watching opponents or replays. This could be done by highlighting the units, "shaking" the units, drawing lines... anything. Right now, all we see is the subunit counts changing, and this is difficult to follow.
We could use the same cues that exist now. How about the red outline, with or without the cross hairs, showing who is being attacked, and a new indicator to show who is attacking. Maybe (Yes I know this is a lot of art and yes I am voluteering if it comes to it) a "firing" frame for each icon.
A firing frame would do.
We'll probably want/need a "being fired upon" frame for targets, too.
I have to agree that this is an unsightly problem with this game. Give us a visual cue! Red outlines (w/ or w/o cross hairs) are a great idea but a firing animation would be awesome. I also wouldn't mind an update box at the end of the turn that outlines everybody's moves or a status box under the map that lists every move.
