I just finished reading Nathan Englander's Ministry of Special Cases, and this was the best book I have read in a very long time. It is funny and human terribly sad, too. And though it takes place in a different time than I live in and in a place that I have never been, I was reminded over and over again that we are all more alike than we are different. I highly reccomend this novel.

A well-established writers' group seeks one new member. We meet in a pub in Cambridge on Monday evenings in the summer and every Tuesday evening in the winter. You can find examples of our members' work here, here, and here. This is a prose-focused group. We are looking for a serious prose writer (preferably fiction, although we will consider non-fiction) who loves cheese fries, has a good sense of humor, and has the ability and proclivity to carefully read, edit and constructively criticize the work of other writers. Please email ClarkamyL at gmail dot com with a short introduction and a writing sample if you would like to join us.
