True Blood Season Two: Episodes 7-12
What if it was Lorena who was able to make that dream happen?
Yes, Laura, I believe that we the viewer are supposed to infer that Lorena is the one who caused that dream.
Also it is a great way for Lorena to put a wedge between both Sookie and Eric as well as a wedge between Sookie and Bill.

CH Q & A's, Interviews, etc...*READ ONLY. THREAD CLOSED. See NEW THREAD*
Whew, I just finally got caught up on the 150+ messages on this thread.
I am sorry to read that CH is distressed enough over some fan reaction that she has had to make a public statement clarifying her position. I am also sorry to hear that some posters on this site think that her comments may in some way be directed at their own level of criticism and comments.
I believe that CH's statement has more to do with the minority of very vocal fans who border on what would be called on other boards "troll-like behavior". People who do more than just criticize the work - bearing in mind that criticism comes with the territory for anyone who writes or otherwise engages in the Arts. The people she is directing her comments to are those who cross over the line of civility into hostility. People, who in some cases, engage in personal (verbal) attacks against Ms. Harris and her work.
It is possible to be critical and disagree with the direction of a work or series of works without attacking the creator of those works. We have seen here on this board, time-and-time again, that this is possible - in fact that is the way that all discussions on the threads here are handled (except for a few cases where a Troll was trying to bait Laura - but that was dealt with, and the tone of the board was not negativly effected).
While it is true that this is not the strongest of the books in the series it is one that takes care of some serious business that needs to be done so that Sookie can continue to grow and develop.
We, as readers, should also keep in mind that this is the first book (in a while) that CH is not doing a book tour for. Her lack of appearances this year are due to many family commitments that she has that will all take place this Spring/Summer - the same time that the book was released.
I think that it is possible that some of the strain of preparing a child for end of High School (and pre-college) events coupled with the volume of criticism and in some cases the harsh tone in which it was delivered - that all of these factors may have contributed to why CH felt that she was 'under attack' to the point where she needed to issue a statement.
Also, there is the whole discussion around TB and how the TV series has changed the expectations of some fans (note her surprise in the sudden explosion of 'Bill Lovers') - which is really a discussion for another time, but no doubt has contributed to the level and strength of the feedback that she's getting.
I'm not saying that folks here are overreacting to her statement. I do think that there is a tendency to think that her post/letter/statement/blog entry was directed to ALL of her readers - which it clearly was not. Her recommendation that those who "disagree with where she is taking the books should find another author to follow" is clearly a statement that comes from a place of pain. Pain that was inflicted by people who have attacked her because she has not written or delivered according to their expectations (and some have, if you recall this happened last year as well, accused her of being greedy and milking the series for all it's worth).
To the statement about the series going either until she runs out of ideas for Sookie or the books stop selling - that really is more of a "which ever comes first statement". CH has stated (as quoted above by Laura) that she is not worried about her publishing future - so it really is a matter that she will keep writing Sookie until she feel that she has nothing left to say about her - which is the case for the characters of her other completed series (she likes to "check in with them from time-to-time" but doesn't see a reason to give them another full-lenth book).

TrueBlood Season Two **THREAD CLOSED-READ ONLY** MOVE TO TB SEASON 2 EP-7-12
Jessica is proving to be a good addition to the cast. I agree that her impression of Bill was 'spot on'. Her having a 'relationship' with Hoyt could prove interesting - especially if Jason tries to come between them.
So now Godric is the 'missing sherriff" - okay, so we're seeing more characters become compressed. It will be interesting to see where AB is going with all of this.
BTW, aside from when there was the discussion for AB to option CH's books I don't think that he and she have had any further discussions on either where he plans to go with the character nor where she plans to take the books. The interviews that I have read, from either of them, seem to indicate that they don't keep in touch and that CH hasn't been in touch with anyone in the production other than being invited to screenings and openings - but as far as input on characters and story development, nada.

Sookie is no kept woman, or is she?
Thanks for the compliment, Anya.
I'll try not to be gone so long in the future, guys.
Having said that, I've gotta go - the book finally arrived, so I've got to catch up with the rest of ya'll.

"The company I work for has a large print imprint" - why do they have different covers for the large print versions of books?
I think that it may have to do with rights and permissions for the art work - which is why sometimes the HC and the PB or even the editions published in other countries may all have different art work. Rach can speak to that issue as well.

What's the deal with all these (almost) virgins anyway?
I agree with you - the time has come for a "heroine who owns her identity and is comfortable in her sexuality from the get-go" - and I'm sure that we will be seeing them on the horizon soon - and if not, then shame on the publishers. Frankly when I'm not reading our series for discussion I am looking at and reading various short stories and checking out writers who have characters that may fit that bill. There are some that I suspect may already be there, but I need to check on some of their earlier stories (in the case of series) but will report my findings to the group. The short story or collections of novellas/omnibuses tend to have a shorter turn around time and are more willing to risk stories that push the limits of what has been considered 'safe' - more grounded female protagonists would fall into this area (strange that reflecting the actual readership would be considered 'daring' - but there you are).
I understand your point - and agree with it. Now if only we can convince publishers to give women what they want.
On the otherhand, it has only been recently that sexually explicit content has been considered to be acceptable within the greater romance genre - and not too long since it was allowable for the female character to enjoy or even initiate the sexual experience. There's a reason that so many 'bodice rippers' have the heroine being 'taken by force' and 'loving him against her will' - it fell under part of the idea that if there was going to be 'steamy' or 'detailed' sexual scenes that the woman could only enjoy it 'in spite of herself'. We've come along way in a short time - but there are still those at publishing houses who err toward the side of 'tradition'.
I'm not saying that it's right - just that finally with the success with the various series that we have been or are planning to discuss, the door has opened for manuscripts (the like of which you wish to see) to have a better chance to be published.

Well, I'm trying to stay away from all spoiler type things until the book is released.

Book #9: Dead and Gone (Speculation Only)
I would like to agree with teamnorthman and say that any discussion about the podcast should be in its own thread with a spoiler alert. That way this thread can stay 'clean' for speculation about "Dead and Gone" - otherwise, those who don't wish to listen to the podcast won't feel like they have to avoid this thread until after the book is released - nor will they get 'spoiled' accidentally.

Also, considering that they did pull off the road earlier in the scene, then when Graham get cross because Damian wouldn't share also fits "Jealous glances"
