Shadowfever Discussion for those who have/are reading the book *SPOILERS*
Good idea! Yeah they sure took there darned time confessing what was painfully obvious, I felt like it was being put off a lot and that felt a little pointless after the whole beginning of the book and after the fun of seeing her and Barrons fight while she refused to believe it was really him. There were a few things I felt a little contrived, but for the most part it was told so well I didn't mind. Well I'm off to get ready for work.

Shadowfever **NEW thread 2**! - Theories, Spoilers, Teasers & Discussions
You have to change your address to say you live in the UK. I would, but I just can't bring myself to spend 26 dollars for a kindle book on top of the hard cover.

Shadowfever - Theories, Spoilers, Teasers and Discussion
Karen Moning posted the first page of the book on her facebook. It sound a lot like one of the first excerpts from her newsletters, but I don't recall for sure. Still I thought it was pretty cool.

Cheat The Grave-
Vicki Pettersson's latest book has been moved up to May 25th. The cover of her website still states the June 2010 release date, but she seems to have confirmed the change on her message boards. It shows up as May 25th on Amazon also.
Not much of a change, I know, but I thought I'd share the news anyway.

True Blood Season Two: Episodes 7-12
I guess Lorena didn't think Sookie was quite dumb enough to try to kick a vampires ass, so she wasn't expecting it?

TrueBlood Season Two **THREAD CLOSED-READ ONLY** MOVE TO TB SEASON 2 EP-7-12
When I saw the Daphne scenes, I really wished she was Sookie.
Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the show last night!

Academics Take a Bite Out of Sookie Stackhouse
Wow, I was not expecting to laugh so much when I posted this.
"huh... So even the big brains agree... Eric is the shiznit" and
"Why not just say, "These books are all about Captain Caveman style lovin. Knock the bitch over the head with your club and drag her back to your cave where you "F" her senseless and she is happy to scrub the skid marks out of your leather skivies."
Yes, I think this is what they are getting at here. But Sookie's need for that kind of relationship bothers me much less than a great many other books I read (also the reason I at first enjoyed Anita Blake so much).
Fo the first point I'm not sure if I really need to say anything because one of the commenters, the very well written Robin has done this for me. In fact I enjoyed her comments more than I enjoyed the panel discussion itself.
"So I don’t think Harris’s world is de-racinated at all (and there is diversity within the series, as well); on the contrary, I think Harris actually brings racial politics closer to the surface by not directly embodying them. For me, the Ball series, as much as I love it, is so much less subtle, so much less nuanced around these issues, that its strength is more in celebrating the sensationalistic and reveling in the gore, flattening out some of Harris’s series."
She has understood a lot about these books that the panelists seems to have missed. I have always thought that Harris's writing was subtle and she portrayed a very honest view of the world in it's context with out trying to make a lesson out of it. I think she portrays it like it is for the character and is very good at that. I also think that Harris doesn't try to create a perfect character that is trying to save the world in it's perfect way. She is very true to who the character is and that lends a certain credibility in her writing. We do our best with the world from the perspective we grew up in, the hands we were dealt and from what we have learned along the way. Our world is not the perfect utopian paradise, and we haven't managed to make it so, but there is a lot of joy to be had here. I think that Charlene understands this well. If Meyer goes into this at all with her writing, I have completely missed it.
I hoped to get farther, but I will go back to this and try to post more before the end of the night.
