Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
To enjoy both the books and the show I think most people would need to separate them and see them as two separate stories. I have and can enjoy True Blood now. I agree that they're trying to milk the success of True Blood and trying to sell as many copies as possible.
I prefer the cartoon illustrations. Each cover tells a story and they're much more colourful than the dark tones of the new editions. Frankly I'm annoyed I can't get a copy of DUD with the illustrated cover where I live.

CH Q & A's, Interviews, etc...*READ ONLY. THREAD CLOSED. See NEW THREAD*
She plants so many things in the books but refuses to go back & clarify properly or at all. There are so many lines of dialogue that I want to know the meanings behind them but I guess I'll never know. Then she goes on acting all surprised at why everyone is so interested in the characters/issues.
I've invested too much time on this series to give up now. Plus I'm curious but for the future books, they'll be borrowed, not bought.

True Blood Season 2 Episode 12 (Finale) **THREAD CLOSED - READ ONLY**
Sorry, forgot I was in chat mode.
This episode was so disappointing. The finale should be a top episode but instead (for me anyone) it was one of the worst.
Firstly, Eric should've been there to help get rid of MaryAnn. What's the point of Sam asking for help if Eric wasn't going to be there? Instead Bill & Sam comes off as the heroes. Sam I don't mind but Bill, GAH I'm so sick of Bill.
The "will you marry me" WHAT??? Like others have mentioned, this was influenced by the real life engagement of AP & SM.
LDID is one of my favorite in the series, I think I'll skip the season 2 DVDs and just re-read the book.

Is Sookie's Suitor Choice Preference Based on Personal Experience?
I don't think I entirely agree but this is a good question. I want Sookie to end up with Eric. But in real life, I don't know if I want someone like Eric as a life partner. I love Eric but he's the kind of man who seems to be just out of my reach. His actions speaks louder than words & I would love to have a man pay that kind of attention to me. I'm referring to his gift giving, how he notices what Sookie wants/needs without being told/asked. I want someone who talks to me & Eric being high-handed doesn't sit well with me (personally). However... since I'm more open, curious & have a more go-getter attitude than Sookie, a person like Eric will probably react differently & actually talk to me because I wouldn't throw a tantrum or run away.

Is Sookie's Suitor Choice Preference Based on Personal Experience?
For myself I would like to end up with someone like Sam. A wonderful, caring person... a best friend.
But I have noticed that some of my girlfriends tends to favour love interests in movies/TV who have similar qualities to their perfect partners. I remember one gf in particular who loved funny guys like Chandler from friends. She ended up with a part time comedian.

True Blood Season 2: Episode 9 continued & Episode 10
What a disappointment this week was. Last week ended wonderfully. It teared at my heart but this was a total let down.
My two cents is that scene with Eric was a dream. I don't remember seeing any bite marks on her neck. Bill would come crashing through the wall (even though the door was open) otherwise.
So what happened in this episode? Lafayette and her aunt babysat Tara, Hoyt and Jessica babysat mother. Sookie got home... AND they just filled the rest of the episode with fluff. Old fluff that we've been seeing all season. Oh no wait, they introduced Sophie-Ann's leg, whoopee!
Every episode from the pilot to last week's episode has left me hanging for me. This week, I'm bored.
But I have to be thankful for the Eric opening.

TrueBlood Season Two **THREAD CLOSED-READ ONLY** MOVE TO TB SEASON 2 EP-7-12
Somehow I don't think AB could've been forced to give someone a role if he thought they were horrible. I just think he made a huge mistake. Many fans (not just book fans) thinks AP is a horrendous Sookie. Even with an Oscar, since then, her roles were small, few & far between.
I blame AP's stalking, AB's moment of insanity, those critics who reviewed the pilot, if they could force AB to replace the original Tara, they could've forced AB to replace AP.
It really surprises me that there are people out there who thinks AP is an actress who deserved that Golden Globe & that Sookie was made for her. Seriously on some of the youtube comments people express their love for her & they express their hate for people who don't agree. I replied to a comment regarding her Golden Globe win stating that compared to the other nominees, her performance was lacking. That was it, no swearing, nothing abusive. The comment I was replying to got "green thumbs ups" while mine keep getting "red thumbs downs" until youtube removed it because so many people found it offensive.
That's probably why there seems to be so many fans on youtube for AP's Sookie because they keep getting rid of comments that don't agree with them.
