  Do you vote for something (or someone) or against?

  Yeah, but maybe its a 'fluid' form of the 'Exception to prove the rule' in that it depends on the specificity of a) the campaign at hand, or b) the spread of your own political issues,

   That being, if it was a General Election and there had been a wide variety of issues you are betraying more for 'democracy' if the campaign had been single or lacking many political issues...

  But the basic stand point stays the same. Vote for, not against someone(95% of the time)

  Lol, yeah errm... It always makes me wonder why sexual deviency is always a career killer for politicians and civil servants...

  Chirac retires

  Bah, but it is something that is needed most of the time within politics. There will always be someone who can shout loud enough against any policy for that policy to get scrapped. So you have to find some way to pacify those who would do so to get ANY action done.
