    Heh. Don't count on it.

In terms of usability, it doesn't seem like it would be out of the question to use both, and have users select their mode.

"There's no way for me to auto detect the type of browser in a platform
independent way. Anyways those are some of the issues that needs to be
    addressed to solve this problem."

No, but at least for XP and higher, isn't there an API call to pull in the Program Access and Defaults settings?

Another thought, and I apologize if this is dated or stupid, but remember way back when you could use named target attributes in links to specify which window handled something?  Wouldn't that be able to work to override the current Tangler tab, provided that the target name had already been set by the site?

  • Windows, Linux, Mac, or Multiboot?

They're not *really* micro releases though, are they? Every six months, new major version. If you want betas and works in progress then you can get them, but that doesn't really count.  As for using names vs. numbers, I agree, they're not used so much. But on the flip side, it isn't hard to find the information to match them.

I've been meaning to get one for a while, but I keep changing my mind. I'd have to get something custom designed (no flash work for me!) so I need to make sure that it's something I'd be comfortable sticking with.

I'm not familiar with Symfony. Anything like CakePHP?

  • Wii or Xbox360 or PS3 ?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not so obsessed about eye-candy on a console that I'll drop games because they don't look good. (Heck, I replayed System Shock 2 a few months ago).  It's just that with some setups, the lack of anti-aliasing is so noticable and distracting that it breaks the immersion of the game.  Again, tough to judge because I don't think there's anything out there currently that even approaches what the Wii could do graphically. Maybe we'll see some improvement in that regard in the coming months.

I'd also like to point out that the PS3 now has a Folding@Home client available through the ribbon-menu-thing.  That's something that is a plus for it in my books.
