vista running faster on mac pro than apple's own osx

I use parallels. It's about 80 bucks, but I can run windows in a window, or full-screen mode on the fly. If for some reason windows takes a crash or whatnot, and I have to restart or force quit windows, so be it - the Mac section is still up, fully functional and un-affected by the windows freak-out.
