'The US bailout and the problems recently experienced by banks in Europe has now spread to Japan.
In the last seven days Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly, up and Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some of its branches.
On Monday it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale, and it's thought likely to go for a song, while shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived.
Samurai Bank is soldiering on following sharp cutbacks, and Ninja Bank is reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black.

What is it that makes humans "better" than animals
Our "man" God says... If you are not a critical thinker, then you really are not welcome here, unless you wish to learn.
I'm a bit jealous that someone actually has the time to sit and ponder the critical stuff of this world so that we can all benefit from your conclusions. Or would you prefer that we come to our own conclusions so that you can tell us that your way is best. Or do you have some other methodology to offer us learning, to make better atheists of us or to give us the information we need to truly trash Judeaism, Hinduism, Buddism, Islam, Christianity etc etc etc etc. What actually is there to think about...?
Whether I should ponder the values of the physical properties of titanium to produce a better skin for a submarine or exhaust funnel for a jet engine...? The meaning of our life on this planet...? This planet and how we can reapair it...? How to turn plastic into skin to repair a body...? The big bang...? Hadron Colliders>>>? and so on.
I'll tell you what Mr God, this is not that sort of forum. You don't see all the scientific geniuses of this world posting in ignorant little back-waters like this. Where are all the educated masses on Tangler? Where is anyone capable of understanding those critical questions, never mind being able to comprehand an answer...?
So don't go getting ahead of yourself and make silly attempts to rise above your peers with capability and knowledge that you can only express in someone elses terms. For example you wheel out Professor Dawkins, why not attempt some original ideas of your own instead of relying on what he has to say, you might then get that litle bit of qdos that you seem to be craving.

God - Another self appointed Alpha who, like the ones he learns his scorn from, is incapable of broad thought and understanding the wide range of experiences that are available in the real world.
What is it with you people who claim to know "the right way" or "the better way"? Why can't you just leave us normal, well educated and world-wise mortals to get on with our lives without sermon after sermon about your way being the currently best available based on the knowledge passed to us from the scientific world? Or something equally boring...
I note also (from a post on another thread) that there is an early reliance on quoting evidence of correctness from the eminence of others (Dawkins). Although I must say that from a scientific perspective he does seem rather prone to producing (albeit rather good) theories to support his view he is not without critiscism from other (equally) eminent sources as to the testability and of the many theories that he brings forth from the stuff he actually does uncover. The problem is that he is so very astute that his postulations are made, in general, to be well beyond the scientific capability to prove or deny. Is that vision or is it the human factor coming to the surface whereby he can make himself into another one of those Alphas...???

Beware of this one. If you call someone from you home 'phone and it's a traditional analogue phone and they have a traditional analogue 'phone, the call won't finish until you hang up. However if the call originates in a call centre it's quite likely that they have digital lines to connect to the telephone network and when they hang up the line always clears down. Therefore they can continue to make calls. And your 'phone is simple "off hook". Therefore no-one can call you and probably, you'll end up with a recorded message telling you the "other party has cleared" and then it sometimes changes (after 10 mins or so) into a high pitched tone.
