i have no words. that was just.....balls. no wait, i have a few words. dear Anna needs to stop doing the Tyra Banks "smeyes" face all the time. it doesn't make you look intense, it makes you look confused. and kind of like a bird when you wave your head around like that....

oh also, i like new Tara.

Reading through this thread, I seem to be in the minority. I LOVED the Hollows series. I love how Rachel is constantly having to drag herself out of the mud. I love how she's imperfect...impulsive, hot headed, righteous to a fault... I love the humor in KH's writing. I never felt bogged down with her descriptions...I think it's part of what's helped flesh out her characters. You notice their habits, you start realizing before Rachel does how certain characters will react. It did take a while to get going, but these last few books especially have been great.

Similarly (in that my opinion differs), I really wasn't a fan of the Night Huntress series at all. I wasn't hooked. I read them all but more because I was waiting for it to get better. Bones is just another version of Spike, and I'm not a fan of the government agency storylines in Urban Fantasy.

    Maybe that's just me.

I did like Anita Blake, and didn't mind the sex, until it took over the plot. there were a few that just got lost in the love scenes (and beastiality? Really? I don't see the attraction of having sex with someone in their animal form). But, I've heard that the last few have gotten good again, so I might start them over.

  • Book #11- Dead Reckoning **SPOILERS**

He either set it up as a gift to Fintan so that he would have another telepath in the future to assist SA,

Why would he do this one? Well, I guess if he was being paid a fortune but why would it be a gift for Fintan?

More that he used Fintan as a gateway for the possibility of passing on his telepathy. I assume that because only the humans with the "spark" can inherit the telepathy, Mr. C required fairy blood of some kind for it to work. And if that's the case, it could have just been that he went through Fintan because Fintan was already a friend of his. So he's giving this gift to Fintan, when in reality it's for his own benefit.

he wouldn't be using it much in the way Sookie had been, especially in Rhodes.

Maybe b'c he was around the vamps more & he can't read them like Sookie. But overall I think Sookie has always been observed by various different supes. Like one big test of her character to try & suss her out.

    I don't think SA knew about Mr.C.

True, but I would think he would be very concerned for himself and Diantha...  Even if SA didn't know about Mr. C's telepathy, I would have thought if he was an unknown telepath, he would have heard something from Jake or even just the workers at the convention, and been ready to save his own skin.

Mustapha has a lot to hide: He mentions not consuming stimulants of any kind and hints at having been a slave (drugaddict?) in his former life (with another name... why?).

He definitely seems to imply that he was addicted to some drug or another in the past. Also, I don't think it's uncommon for people to want to change their names/identities in order to distance themselves from a former "self", you know?

  • The Fae in Sookie's life

I said that too.  Some fae in an Alcide suit.  I know Alcide is a fool at times.  It just didn't seem like him to be that bold.  I thought the whole thing was odd.

Not to mention, "Alcide" claims that Jannalynn told him it would be a good idea, but Sookie purposefully doesn't bring the situation up to Sam (or Jannalynn), meaning that she could have had nothing to do with it at all...it could have been a fairy posed as Alcide in an attempt to get Sookie pregnant (as I know has been mentioned) without any confirmation from the weres at all that it was in fact him. It's never addressed to anyone besides those in the house. A fairy also could have glamoured Amelia into giving more information than she normally would. Besides, Alcide has gotten progressively more ridiculous and demanding, but I still can't imagine him being cocky enough to just get naked and get in her bed.

Sexual energy from the clients may be keeping them fed?
    Just like Jean Claude!
Hah, and Claude looks like him too

Did you ever catch the similarities between Richard and Alcide? They were relatively gentle and forward-thinking, then were forced into becoming pack leader, and becoming harsher and crueler and more distant because of it? Also how their animal natures became more prominent? Sorry for going off topic.

Something else I was thinking about...I wonder if Dermot is trying to create a portal in the attic? And the renovations are to explain his need to be up there so much. He may want a portal that's more secure, and secret. He does have a lot of magic... and i can imagine it was something that would take a while to accomplish. It seems odd to me that he would be so enthusiastic about the renovations without some other reasoning. Especially since Claude no longer lives there - if it was simply desire for his own space, he could have just taken Claude's room.

  • Official Introduce Yourself Thread: "What's Your Fave?" - NEW

    Name: Lexie

    Where ya from?: Toronto, Canada

DOB (decade or century not included if you wish Wink): April 14, 1989

How'd you come by this forum?: Trying to decipher some details that were bothering me, and google pointed me here

Have you read the books?  If so, how many of them?: I've read them all.

Have you seen the show?: Yes, but I prefer the books, personally.

What is your favorite type of supe? (Were, fairy, vampire, etc...): I couldn't say....they all have their faults. Probably shifters like Sam (as, to me, that would be the most desirable), though not Sam himself. Though vampires would be a second. I just feel like Weres and Vampires, possibly because of their grouping together, are too far outside society. Shifters, being more loners, seem to fit in more with humans.

If you had a theme song - what would it be?: Banana Rejection by Silent Drive. It was kind of a soundtrack for my friends and I in our crazy highschool days

If you had a theme movie  - what would it be?: Probably a coming of age, as I'm a little behind on the "what do you want to be when you grow up" front.

What character from a book, film or song do you identify most with?: I identify a lot with Rachel Morgan from the Hallows series.

If you were a piece of fruit, what would you be & why?: Hmmm....a lemon? tart and sour, but people still seem to like me;) and I go well with a wide variety of other things (people). Though lemons are also my favourite, so maybe I'm projecting a little.
