  • The 10/20/30 Rule

i think the best impact of the 10/20/30 rule is to throw a better "target" out there, not to lay down the rule of law. to me it says, LOOK, keep it simple and short.

i love (good) presentation rules and i hate them. rules, tips, hacks, tricks, etc. alone don't cut it (http://gpmb.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/every-trick-in-the-book/).  they are bound to help some people, but they can also overwhelm (http://youblog.typepad.com/the_youblog/2007/06/too_much_noise.html)

  • Best presentation you've seen this year

Yeah I loved the contest winners, even though I am not a big believer in "slide decks" being treated as "presentations".  Meet Henry in particulr rocked (OK I am so biased, since it was about the importance of good presentations, BUT). I am working on a blog post about the Meet Henry Meme... about 8 presentations out there using that style now, (8=just the ones that have made it onto blogs and slideshare)...

  • Death by PowerPoint

Wow, hello, cool. I set this up but have not been by in a while. First, Trib, YES, some of the most effective "presentations" (aka speeches) in history needed no visuals. In the abive "have" should have read "hate".  As in, hating PowerPoint is akin to hating all visual aids.

    Mick, LOL!

  • Your Next Presentation

Admit it, you're cramming for a hi-pressure presentation. You're up late and you just twittered about it, now what are you going to do next...?

  • Powerpoint & Corporal Punishment

Tho it seems like splitting hairs, a big part of the problem comes when people start to call their .ppt file "their presentation". It's not and never will be.  http://GPMB.wordpress.com
