  Same with XP. According to a message I received from Chris Saad on the issue,

  The ticker behaviour is a known issue - it has really been replaced by the sidebar.

  I prefer to be able to choose between either one; depending on what I'm doing, I consider the sidebar too intrusive. Let's see how does forthcoming version 2.0 behaves.

  Ticker doesn't autostart

  On startup, peebles and popups begin to appear but ticker does not. I have to disable and re-enable ticker to make it work.

  character encoding troubles

  This problem has already been acknowledged a while ago but seems to have been assigned low priority. Perhaps because it doesn't affect English language content (which needs no accents) -- Rule Britannia!

  IE spawned instead of default browser

  I note that if Firefox (my default browser) is not in use, Particls opens items I click on IE instead (even though it was not in use either).

  Then, when Firefox window shows up, the item also appears on a Firefox tab (as it should).

  Expressions?

  About how the Words list works.

  Would it be possible for one to be able to specify expressions with AND, OR and NOT operators (like Strauss AND Opera OR Operetta) and also strings with spaces (like "Sun Microsystems" )?

  Nowadays, if I enter Sun Microsystems in a line, is it interpreted as (Sun AND Microsystems) or as (Sun OR Microsystems) or as ("Sun Microsystems")?

  V 0.9.2040.0 unexpected shutdown

  Newly released 0.9.0295.0 seems to be free of the "false error window" problem discussed above.  Cheers!
