    just for the record, i really didn't think anything was that far out of whack with the units. i have played plenty of games on isles of death and have used almost all of the units to win (somtimes loseqq)

    although i do like the battleships better attack against air, that just makes them even more destructive

  • 1st Turn Advantage - Solutions...

    good suggestions so far. we have the map editor coming soon, so we'll see soon enough if map design alone is good enough.

    i was thinking more along the lines of game mechanics. like allowing all players, but the first, to actually gain income from their starting cities on their first turn. so if i start with 1 city that gives 100/turn, i'd receive an extra 100 credits on my turn (assuming i'm not first). this could work for players 2-6. i'm not even sure it would be 100% fair to the starting player, but it could be tweaked.. such as giving half credits for the first turn (50 in this example). with tweaking the starting credits, i think we can eliminate the 1st player advantage.

    this will all have to be set at the map editor level. perhaps we could come up with a rough formula to be tweaked by the map creator/testors to take into consideration the map layout.

    to go back to xiken's transformer comment with another unit idea... some transformers can combine to become stronger...

    SunTzu Tank (i'm so modest aren't I?)

    • Part 1 made at an airport, Part 2 made at a city, Part 3 made at a naval base
    • All 3 vehicles must have full health and be touching each other in a triangle formation
    • They then combine into a single unit, which presumably be very strong, fast, repair well, etc...

  • Suggestion: Initial cost + continual drain cost

    ok suggestion, but we have to watch out for "feature creep", i wouldn't want this game to get so complex that anyone starting felt overwhelmed.

    Alex/Bert... I know you have a ton of map requests, but if you could pick a multiplayer (such as mine below), I'm sure the people on the test server would greatly appreciate it.
